
The State Commission on Radio Frequencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established by Presidential Decree #484 dated 15 August 1996, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and functioned until January 2018.
The State Commission on Radio Frequencies (State Commission) began its activities with a new composition by Decree #2622 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 4 May 2021. The composition of the State Commission is defined as follows:

–Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Members of the State Commission
–Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan
–Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan
–Deputy Chief of State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan
–Deputy Chief of State Service of Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Regulations on the State Commission on Radio Frequencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan were approved by Decree #1492 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 18, 2021.
Duties of the State Commission:
– develop long-term priorities in the allocation and use of the radio frequency spectrum;
– prepare and approve the plan of future use of radio frequency spectrum of the Republic of Azerbaijan and schedule for allocation of frequency bands;
– make decision on allocation of radio frequencies for the use of radio electronic means and cancel this decision in cases stipulated by legislation;
– develop methodological recommendations in connection with the observance of rules on the use of radio frequencies;
– take necessary measures to ensure the effective use of radio electronic means and high-frequency devices.
